Happy New Year!

I keep asking the same question over and over.  Where did this year go?  I look at my family and see how we have all aged, including my children. Again I ask, where did the years go?  Happy New Year to all of you and your family's.  Hope it comes with lots of good surprises, good health, and lots of sewing time!

After spending the last five days in Palm Springs, enjoying the warmth and sunshine, I decided that today I just had to finish putting borders on my BOM, from Commom Threads, called "Patriots in Petticoats".  Here is a pic of the finished top.  Now on to 2012!

So many projects, sew....little time!

Ok, so the holidays are almost here, and there is always so much to do, but working on my quilt projects always seems like more fun!  Need to finish that last Dear Jane block today.  Oops, I haven't mentioned this yet.  Yes, I'm doing a DJ quilt.  I only have ten triangles and the four corner kites to do.  I started this journey two years ago next month, and my goal is to have it done by the end of January 2012.  Of course, this year I also took on a couple blocks of the month that should finish up this month as well.  What was I thinking?!!!

And what's this picture of?  One of those fun mindless projects that comes pre-cut, and ready to sew.  I got two different colorways, but I think this one is my favorite.  A couple of friends turned me on to these great little kits by Donna Jordon.  They sell them on the eBay at:'s.  I better get busy!

Caught up on some of the "Civil War" blocks of the week.

It feels so good to catch up on some of those projects that have been hanging around.  Last January I started Barbara Brackman's "Civil War" block of the week project.  For those of you who aren't familiar, she posts one block each Saturday, with a story from the war.   Take a peek at her site.  It has been lots of fun.  Here's a few of my recently finished blocks.
