My Next Project

I think I've made my decision on the next project I want to start.  This is the picture of it.  It's from the Better Homes and Gardens Quilt Sampler, Fall/Winter 2011.  The pattern is "Scattered Stars", by Susan Deegan and Kim Nimtz.  I'm going to make my version more scrappy and use some of 1800's reproductions stash that's in that closet, I showed you all a few days ago.  It's just my kind of quilt making.  A few stars at a time so I can really play with my fabrics!

Back to the 1800 Reproductions

Reproduction Closet

Phew!  I've been working on a number of projects in batiks or Moda florals lately, and I'm ready to return to my passion! 1800 reproductions!  Let's hear it for all of you fans of these older lovelies.   Here is a peek into a portion of the reproduction closet.  Just a peek though.

With that said, it is also time to start a new project.  Interesting thing about us quilter's.  We love to start new quilt projects.  We start these projects before we've finished a current project, or even one we've put aside for awhile.  This is how we end up with those UFO thingies.  You all know what I'm talking about.  Sometimes it's one we've recently seen, or sometimes it's one we've had in mind for awhile and just now feel like getting to.  I'll let you know soon what that project is going to be.

Happy Quilting to Everyone Everywhere!

Playing with Color

Home from a weekend in San Diego, got the morning chores done, and now I can spend a few hours playing with color.

These "Bouillabaisse" blocks, from Pie in the Sky Quilts, are so much fun to make and arrange.  I'm using my leftovers and stash from old quilts.  Of course I've added a few new ones, purchased at our area's recent Shop Hop. Looking forward to teaching this class in August.
Stay cool where ever you are and Happy Quilting!
