Not a Goddess?

BOW Weeks 8 and 9!
Ok! Sew......I've finished my Dear Jane Quilt, and have been told by one Goddess, that I'm not a Goddess.  To be a Goddess my quilt must be quilted and bound.  I'm working on getting that done now!  Sew....in my mind I'm a Goddess!  So there!!

Here's a picture of the last couple of weeks of Grandmother Choice BOW blocks!  I've taken out  a couple of UFO's,  and I'm looking at the fabric and deciding what I want to do with them, and what I should work on next.  It's funny, now that I have more sewing time, I  can't really decide on what to work on next.  I'm sure I'll figure that out soon.  Stay tuned to see what that might be!!

I'm Now a DJ Goddess!

Janie Dearest Completed 10/27/2012
I have officially completed my journey, having finished my Dear Jane quilt at 8:32 pm last evening!  Some of you may know that if you complete a DJ of your own you become a DJ Goddess.  It's has been a long journey, and one that has gotten me through some very hard times, and some very good times!  If my mother had lived a bit longer she would have enjoyed seeing the end.  Sew... I'm dedicating this quilt to her, for she is the one, who instilled in me the joy of color and art!  I'm pleased how well it all came together, and happy she is done!!

Final Corner Kite Done!!

Bottom Right Corner

Wooohooooo!!!!!  Here it is, the final corner kite on Janie Dearest!!  I've done it!  I'm done making all the blocks, triangles, and corners!!! I've also put the right side triangle border together!  I can't even begin to explain what this feels like.  I'm going to spend a good part of my weekend putting the quilt together.  Stay tuned for the next post.  It will be a finished quilt!

A Couple More Weekly Blocks

I've been out of touch for the last week.  I've had a friend visiting from New York, and of course we had to take a trip south to San Diego for a visit.  She was born in Coronado so off we went.  She's not a quilter, so I haven't gotten in sewing time this week, but here's a picture of the last two Grandmother's Choice blocks I've completed.  I'm a week behind so I will have to get back to my sewing room soon!

One More To Go!!

Bottom Left Corner
I think I'm really going to make my goal, of finishing Janie Dearest by the end of October.  Here is a pic of my third corner.  It's a little crooked, but it's done.  Now only one to go!!  I'm going to prepare the applique portion on the last one and hope to finish it this coming weekend.  They turned out to be a bit easier than I thought they would be.  I'm so close!  Stay tuned for more on my progress.

Spent the morning at the Pacific International Quilt Festival.  Here's a peek at a few items I bought.  I know I don't really need any of it, but you all know how that goes.  I really liked these antique pillow cases.  I came across them in the Indigo Booth, and just had to have a few more of the Jordan, log cabin, pre-cut kits.  They are so fun to do when you just want to do some mindless piecing.

Only Two to Go!

Wow!  I think I'm really going to finish Janie Dearest!  Last night I stayed up a little late and finished this corner block.  I seemed to have used a different piece of muslin on this one.  It's a little thinner, and I don't like it.  I'm sure it will be ok when it's quilted. I have two more corners and I'm done.  I'm hoping to have time to put the left side triangles together later today or tomorrow.  I'm so excited!  Stay tuned for more progress.  I'm on a role now!

UFO's Everywhere!

I'm going to continue this week with the same theme from last week, and that is to finish some of these UFO's.  I have prepared two more of the Dear Jane corners leaving only one more.  I will post the finished corners this week as I complete them.  I'm so excited because I'm so close to finishing!!

I've posted a picture here of what I've been working on this weekend.  You may remember from an earlier post, that I was starting the "Scattered Stars" quilt from the Better Homes and Garden Quilt Sampler, Fall/Winter 2011, designed by Susan Deegan and Kim Nimtz.  This is a labor intensive quilt, but fun to work on.

Stay tuned for more of this week's progress!

Forgot Picture

Grandmother Choice BOW Week #5
I told you yesterday that I had finished this week's BOW, but I didn't show them to you.  Here's the pic of those two blocks.  Not much sewing time today.  This is usually a sewing day with a couple of friends, but today we're going to a tea luncheon instead.  Sounds fun!

Progress Update!

Left Top Corner of Dear Jane Quilt
It seems that once I make up my mind to do something, I do it!!  Yesterday I completed putting the right side triangles together for Janey Dearest, and made these two "Grandmother's Choice" blocks for this week.
Even more exciting is that today, I spent the morning running all those silly errands we all have to do now and then, and finished the first corner of Janey Dearest!!  I'm doing the happy dance over and over!!  Stay tuned for more progress.

Another finished quilt project!!  I just finished the binding on this Bouillabaise quilt.  It's funny I actually love this quilt!  I made it as a sample for the class I told you about in earlier blogs.  I liked it, but now that it's done, I really love looking at all the colors!

It looks like I'm going to have time this week to get some real sewing done.  We'll see.  Keep checking back for my progress.  I'll post what I'm working on.
